Salt Lake

One of Kurt's best friends from high school got married on Friday. Kurt and his buddy James went up to the sealing in the morning and then James' wife, Camille, and I headed up in the afternoon for the reception. We met them at the Gateway Mall where we grabbed lunch at Applebee's and discovered the cookie mecca that is Ben's Cookies. One word... wow.

James and Camille at Applebee's.

Kurt and me at Applebee's. Kurt looks funny in this picture. (And by the way, it's correct to say Kurt and me because "me" is the object in that sentence, not the subject. Anyhow.)

Then we had some time before the reception started so we decided to go find Hinckley's grave at the Salt Lake cemetery. We knew that cemetery is big, but I think we completely underestimated the pure gargantuan size of it! However, after some driving around we spotted a large headstone a ways off and noticed that there were people there. Once we got there, we saw we were right!

On the back of the headstone it says that the headstone was made with left over stone from the Salt Lake Temple and Conference Center. Pretty cool! (Please ignore my ugly, I-don't-want-to-get-blisters-while-walking-around-the-cemetery flip flops.)

The Sale Lake Cemetery is up on the hill and has an awesome view! It was a beautiful day, to boot.

Next off we headed up to the U (blech) for the reception. And I stupidly forgot the camera in the car. The reception was beautiful--her colors were pink and orange, so cute. It was in the Huntsman Center, which is up on the hill and then on the sixth floor--amazing view of the Salt Lake valley. We had the perfect view of the sun setting over the Great Salt Lake. Wow. Erin, the bride, wore the Xandra dress from Abella Bridal, minus the bow on the bodice, and I love it even more since seeing her in it. She looked beautiful. Then we headed back to Provo and over to the Tanner building to catch the latest episode of the Office. It was a very fun day.
