At last, something worth blogging about

In other words, a post that's more than 2 sentences long.

Stephanie came to visit on Monday! Well, she didn't come to visit, but was flown out for a job interview. She was done by 1 pm on Monday and didn't fly out until Tuesday morning, so she was able to come play for a bit. My aunt Michelle was also in town, and so my Grandma treated us to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Yes, the second time I've been there in a month. Am I sick of it? No. It has a novel for a menu. This time I got the Navajo sandwich--highly recommended, especially if you like avacado and lighter fare. It was most scrumptious. I had a great time hanging out with the girls--something that doesn't happen very often for me, so I loved it! My cousin Carly is such an awesome girl and I'm sad I don't get to hang out with her more often.

Then Michelle and Carly and Grandma all took off for more shopping (I assume they'd already been doing plenty, lol) and Steph and I headed into the canyon for snowboarding with her ex, Dusty. This was basically Steph's 3rd 1st time, but I think she still had a great time. It was very cold and the snow was slightly icy, but we still had a blast hanging out with each other.

I really suck at these kind of pics.

I love my sister and I've missed her so much since the last time we lived with each other--which was 2 years ago. Sad. Super sad. Last summer my dad came to visit me and Kurt in NY and I cried that night just from thinking that I was never gonna be with my family again for an extended (i.e., more than a few weeks) time. So I guess I'll just cherish the time I have with them every time I get to see them!

Anyhow, sorry to wax sentimental! In case, you haven't noticed, Kurt and I love to snowboard!!

I love Kurt

Me: How was studying?

Kurt: Studying. I got tired and took a break and did our taxes.

[He was studying accounting.]

Major Nausea and Captain Cramps

So, I'm in a goofy mood, in case you haven't noticed. Probably because I actually have a semblance of my appetite back for the first time in 6 days.
It's a wonderful feeling.

This weekend could have been completely miserable. Due to a certain "medical procedure" I've mentioned before, I was exhausted, crampy beyond anything I've ever experienced, and nauseaus beyond belief. I also had no appetite, and so didn't eat, and was therefore extremely weak.
No, I'm not pregnant, although James and Camille thought I was after we had to leave their uncle's house quickly after President Hinckley's funeral because I was so sick.

Luckily, the weekend turned out rather nice. On Friday, I wasn't really able to walk around much (it made the nausea worse) and so Kurt bought me some ginger ale (which helped a ton) and rented a couple movies: Rescue Dawn and Hairspray. Hairspray was a surprise... Kurt doesn't do girly movies. At all. Never. Nada. Uh-uh. But he knew I wanted to see it, and he knew I was miserable, and so he rented and watched it with me all the way through. Now that's love.

What made this weekend really fun was the arrival of our Guitar Hero III!! Basically, on Friday I beat it on easy. Yeah, Kurt and I played it all weekend. It's been really fun.

I'm a hard core rocker.

Other fun mail arrivals:
Kurt's sign-on bonus for work came in the mail--it's $500 more than they had originally told him.
My degree!! im a kalludge grajiate! i studeed linguistiks!
Kurt's prep course for the CPA... it consists of 4 books, several CDs, and cost $3000. Luckily, we'll be reimbursed.

Other highlights of the weekend:
Watching President Hinckley's funeral service. It was really awesome. He was awesome.
Watching the Super Bowl, even though we watched it in the Tanner building and my cramps were un-fun.

Oh! And, I got a haircut! My cramps subsided just long enough on Saturday to allow me to get a much needed and long-overdue haircut. Over all, it's almost 1" shorter and with a lot more layers so it has shape and lays flatter. The chick (a new girl, always scary) did goodly.

Wait a second...

So the other day, I put an off-white sweatshirt in the washer. It was dirty only because I'd worn it a few times. No stains on it, no dirt.

When it came out, it looked like this...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought clothes were supposed to be cleaner when they come out of the washing machine, not dirtier?

Maybe I'm crazy.

Cheesecake Factory!

First I want to say to my dear friend Alisse--don't feel too bad hunny! We ALL have bad days with our talents slash skills. You LOVE ASL and one bad night shouldn't stop you from doing what you love. I believe in you! (I posted this on here because I couldn't find the comment button on your post... maybe I'm crazy today.)

So, all my life (well, all my life at BYU, so 5 years) I've heard how GREAT the Cheesecake Factory is. But I was never able to go, because they're all in cool places like Las Vegas and Cali, i.e. places I've never been.

But lo and behold, one has opened up in Midvale! Kurt, Kurt's mom, and I made a pilgrimage there on Tuesday night. I was so excited, and even though I look super ugly in these pics because I've had nonstop cramps all week due to a certain "medical procedure" I had on Monday, I still went.

Kurt and I got there way before his mom did, so we drooled over the cheesecake case and took pictures. I don't know why I didn't take pictures of all the cheesecake!!

Kurt and I were still warming up (hence the coats) and super excited about this legendary cheesecake!

Oh, before we left for the restaurant, I told Kurt I would only go to the Cheesecake Factory if they had gay icicles hanging from the ceiling. Luckily for me, they did.

After eating greasy-yummy appetizers, we got our entrees. HUGE! So we only ate a little bit and saved the room in our stomach for cheesecake because it is, after all, the Cheesecake Factory. It took us a long time to decide on our cheesecakes... they have over 30 varieties! Egads! Finally, we decided and our cheesecakes came.

Kurt got the Dutch Apple Yodel Streusel, or something like that. It was quite delicious because it had baked apples and I'm a sucker for baked apples.

Kurt's mom is not used to having pictures taken of her and food, so it took a couple of shots. She got the Lemon Raspberry cheesecake. It was my favorite.

Here I am, stuffing my chubby face with White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut. Was it as good as it sounded? You betcha!!

After we ate, we took a stroll in the fashion place mall. They have some very interesting stores there. This one was my favorite.

A little bit of color for a dreary day

First of all, congratulations to Punkin on her pregnancy. It'll be her first, and she'll be a great mom. Those maternal instincts have gotta kick in some time.

Now, an array of pictures of beautiful, colorful flowers. I love flowers. I hope this cheers you up!

Oh, and I'd just like y'all to know that it is REALLY hard to write in your blog when you've just taken muscle relaxers. My eyes are not focusing according to will.
